Based out of San Francisco, CA, deafheaven started as a isolated project between frontman George LeSage and guitarist Kerry M. After sending the demo to various blogs and receiving overwhelmingly positive reception, they accepted offers to play live shows and added members of Whirl and Temple of Saturn to form the quintet that today tours as deafheaven. On July 29th, 2010, deafheaven played their first show, marking the unofficial genesis of their rise to bay area prominence. Within months of forming, they began receiving interest from numerous record labels and officially signed on with Deathwish Records in December of 2010.

Alghazanth is a Melodic Black Metal band from Finland but, some albums would convey strong Symphonic Black Metal, dominating the music. The music is an artistic entity channeling the twin stream of all-devouring Darkness and the profound Enlightenment that lies hidden therein. The core of this beast is Black Metal, majestic atmosphere forms the flesh around its bones and Occult Satanism runs through its veins. Though its faces have been many and the shape has shifted often, its current manifestation harbours five damned souls in its flaming heart.

Vreid is a black metal band from Sogndal, Norway. After the tragic death of Valfar in January 2004, the rest of the Windir members decided to end Windir, and put their energy into other projects.

Hváll formed a new band, called Vreid. Vreid is a Norwegian word for wrath. Vreid consists of the 3 Windir members Hváll (bass), Steingrim (drums), Sture (vocals/guitar) and a new guitarist named Ese. Ese has been a close friend of the Vreid members for years, and he was co-engineer on Windir's Likferd album.

Woods of Desolation was formed by D. (aka Dolor) in New South Wales, Australia in 2005 as a means of much deeper personal expression/unburdening through music. Utilising the help of P. Knight on vocals (and occasionally bass) located in the UK 2005- early 2007 saw the recording of 2 demos and 2 split releases released in very limited numbers via different underground labels. These early releases explored more the idea of raw improvisation and experimenting with various different self-recording techniques to achieve the final result.
