Their lyrical content deals primarily with Satanism on a metaphysical level. They are commonly regarded as more sophisticated lyrically and ideologically than most Satanic black metal bands.

Carpathian Forest is a Black Metal band from Norway formed by Nattefrost and Nordavind in 1990. Since the release of the band’s now-legendary Bloodlust & Perversion demo in 1992 and the Journey Through The Cold Moors Of Svarttjern promo of 1993, Carpathian Forest have gained a cult status in the Norwegian black metal scene. Carpathian Forest are unique among black metal bands in that their usual lyrical themes deal with not only satanism, evil, anti-christianity, etc. but sadism, sexual depravity, suicide, and other morbid subjects in addition to usual black metal themes.

Formed in October 2005 by Niclas Boman and Oskari Katainen, Fimbultyr started out without a name for the band and it contained only Niclas, Oskari and Jonas Arnberg on drums. The idea was to play some sort of melodic metal. They recruited Christofer Bergqvist on bass and vocals to fill those spots. After recruiting Christofer the name Fimbultyr was taken. Ideas were flowing and the songwriting was going good for the guys but they felt something was missing, something that would later turn out to be a big part of their music, namely a keyboard player.

Crom dissolves his band TEARS OF TIME, to join German Black Metal band DARK FORTRESS on guitar, only to realise after a while that playing guitar would not completely satisfy him. So, in the winter of that year, he founded his solo project CROM, which has been described as Majestic Melodic Metal.

HELLSAW emerged in 2003 from the minds of two friends who still today form the nucleus of the band: Aries on Vocals, Bass and Guitars, and Svart on Drums. In 2003, the band’s first demo, “Sins of Might”, was released to very good reviews, and was followed up buy the release of the CD a few months later. “Spiritual Twilight” the first full length album from the band, appeared in 2005 and firmly established HELLSAW’s place in the European Underground. The band continued to build on its success over the following month by touring all over Europe, including an appearance at the famed Under The Black Sun Festival in Germany.
